Robert & Kim Clark
Synopsis of Ministry
The Clarks have been serving 15 years in the Czech Republic with EFCA Reach Global (formerly Evangelical Free church of America - International Mission). They have lived and served in Brno, which is the capital city of the Moravian region.
In September 2000, they worked on establishing Betanie Church with a team of Czech nationals and another missionary family. This 7-year old church plant has a church membership of 135 (more than 40 are children) and a wide range of ministries. They've actively been involved with establishing new ministries, discipleship, evangelism, sports outreach, counseling, pastoral care and leadership training. In the summer of 2004 the Clarks, along with a team of 8 members out of Betanie church, were commissioned to begin to focus on a daughter church plant in the southern section of Brno (known as the Bohunice area). This section of the city has approximately 40,000 people living in a vast communist style high-rise apartment area. There is no other church witness for Christ there. After just over 2 years of team building and outreach ministry phases, like English camp and Alpha Course, this church plant began holding Sunday services on January 7, 2007. Presently there are 15-20 people attending.

Home Assignment -
The Clarks have been on home assignment from July 2006 in order to raise support and to assess future ministry plans that the Lord would have them focus on. In the fall of 2006 they lived in Murrieta in a barn that was converted into apartment on the property of a supporter. In the spring of 2007 the Lord opened up an opportunity to serve as Missionaries in Residence at The Master's College in Santa Clarita and live in a small missionary house there. While continuing to raise support they worked on campus with international students, missionary kids and students that are interested in missions. Robert taught a class on ÒMissionary Life and Experience / Cross-cultural Church Planting.Ó Since June of 2007 the Clarks have been living again in Murrieta at the barn/apartment. In the middle of October the Lord made it possible for them to rent a house in the city of Wildomar, CA.
Transition to a New Ministry Direction -
As the summer continued they began to se3nse the Lord was leading them to not return to work in Czech, but to serve Him in a new ministry direction. The Clarks are very excited about the new direction the Lord has been placing before them. As the Clarks prayed and discussed their future in ministry they began to realize that their many years of ministry experience, their education and their gifting could be used to prepare a new generation of pastors and leads for ministry. It is estimated that in the US there is a ratio of one trained church leader for every 230 people, but this ratio jumps up to one in every 450,000 people in the rest of the world. This is a staggering difference and from what we have witnessed in our years of living and serving in central Europe it is true.
The Clarks resigned from serving with Reach Global in September ending 15 years of serving among Czechs. They will continue to received support through Reach Global through December 31, 2007 and will then begin receiving support through the Association of Baptists for World Evangelism (ABWE) beginning January 1, 2008.
They are presently in a multi-phase application process with ABWE, which will culminate in February with a candidate seminar and approval hearing before the ABWE board. During this time they are investigating where the Lord would have them serve in church planting ministry. Along with church planting ministry ABWE has theological institutes in many countries where the Clark's experience, education and gifting can be best used. Australia and South Africa are two possible mission field that are being discussed. At the moment their target date for being sent to a new field of ministry is October of 2008. They are contacting present supporting individuals and churches to share further details of this transition to a new ministry direction.

Personal Information
Robert is a graduate (Masters of Divinity) of Talbot School of Theology (BIOLA University). Robert served as Associate Pastor of Foothills EFC in Rancho Santa Margarita and the Clarks helped in establishing that church while raising support for the mission field. They were sent to the mission field in 1992. Kim worked as a computer software engineer.
Their children are:
Tiffany (20), a sophomore at The Master's College in Santa Clarita, CA.
Kevin (17), a high school senior
Jason (14), in the 8th grade
Kelly (10), in the 4th grade
In addition, the Clarks are presently in the process of adopting two Ukranian orphans who came into their life last July through a program that gives them a 3 week summer experience of staying in the home of American host families. The children are siblings (girl - 12 and boy - 11) and are in an orphanage in the Odessa area. Due to the sensitivity of how the process works we cannot broadly announce too many details. But we would just appreciate prayers for the Lord's provisions financially (which He has been doing), all the detailed items and documents necessary and that the Lord wouldl bring these children into the Clark's family, hopefully by next summer. A letter of intent and initial applications and feels have been submitted.

Ryan & Melissa Crossett
Synopsis of Ministry
Jesus Christ gave us a mandate in Matthew 28 that we are to "Go therefore and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all that I commanded you..." We are currently training with New Tribes Mission (NTM) to do this very thing.
Motivated by the love of Christ, and empowered by the Holy Spirit, New Tribes Mission exists to assist the ministry of the local church through the mobilizing, equipping, and coordinating of missionaries to evangelize unreached people groups, translate the Scriptures, and see indigenous New Testament churches established that truly glorify God.
Right now we are involved in New Tribes Mission's Missionary Training Course. We will be living at the training center in Missourt for at least two years preparing ourselves for missionary work. We will be trained in culture and language aquisition, church planting principles, teaching and teamwork strategies, and many other courses pertaining to missionary life.
We are excited to be used by God to see more people glorify Him. Our passion is taking the gospel to those who have never heard.

Following her graduation from High school in southern California, Melissa went to New Tribes Bible Institute in Waukesha, WI where she was challenged to also have a part in taking the gospel message to people who have yet to hear about Jesus Christ.
They were married in July of 2004. They have enjoyed two wonderful years of marriage in Oostburg, Wisconsin where they worked, were involved in their home church (Sheboygan Evangelical Free Church), and Melissa studied nursing.

Nicolette Grams
Synopsis of Ministry
Nicolette is serving in South Asia with IJM, International Justice Mission. IJM is a ministry dedicated to rescuing and defending the oppressed throughout the world. An estimated 27 million people are enslaved in our world, many being women and young children. IJM rescues people forced into slavery, often at great risk to those who plan and carry out the rescue attempts.
IJM is a Christian agency led by human rights professionals, that helps people overseas suffering from injustice and oppression who cannot rely on local authorities for relief. Nicolette has learned that God does not forget and these are the victims for whom our Lord promises refuge in Psalm 9. These are the people whom God commands us to defend in Isaiah 1.
IJM lawyers work to prosecute the perpetrators in the local court systems while after care facilities help the newly freed victims adjust to a life apart from slavery--one vastly different from their past oppressive experiences. Without IJM, these unfortunate men, women, children, and families would have no other hope for emancipation. You can learn more about IJM by visiting the website (www.ijm.org).

Ron & Kandy Van Peursem
Synopsis of Ministry
Ron & Kandy VanPeursem have been serving with New Tribes Mission since 1987. They have served in
Colombia, Mongolia, Venezuela and the International Headquarters in Florida. Their ministries have
largely revolved around Field Leadership and overseas Missionary Training Programs. In 2006, the
President of Venezuela passed a law prohibiting them from living among the Warao tribal people
where they were serving, and so they have returned to an international leadership ministry. Their
hearts continue to be burdened for the many unreached people groups around the world, isolated
from the Gospel by language and culture, and long to see these unreached groups penetrated with
the Gospel of Grace.
|
|
From 2001 to 2004 the VanPeursems served at NTM's International Headquarters in Florida, where Ron was asked to join
the Mission's Executive Leadership Team. Ron and Kandy's specific area of ministry was to give oversight to NTM's
Missionary Training Centers around the U.S. and overseas. After these three years, Ron and Kandy became convinced
that the Lord was leading them to leave the leadership ministry, and return to Venezuela to join a tribal church
planting team there.
Ron and Kandy and Julianne (16) now work with the Warao tribal people in the Orinoco Delta area of Venezuela. They
have begun language and culture acquisition, and are trusting the Lord for developing friendships with the Warao
tribal people in preparation for sharing the Glorious Message of God's Grace in the coming years with this unreached
people group.
Click here for updated information on their ministry.
Personal Information
The Van Peursem's journey began while in college at Humboldt State University. Through their involvement in Bible study they became aware that "they could either spend their life doing something that would, in the end, just burn up; or invest their lives in the ETERNAL work of God." By faith in God and His Word, they would endeavor to spend their lives laying up treasures in Heaven, by serving those who are in remote places, isolated from the message of the Gospel. In preparation for their ministry they received two years of training at the New Tribes Bible Institute, then one year at "Boot Camp", where they had further Bible teaching. Courses in language, linguistic analysis and Bible translation were then followed by the fun stuff such as a seven-week jungle camp experience and field medicine. Also, during a couple furloughs, Ron was able to complete a Master's Degree in Intercultural Studies at BIOLA University. Ron & Kandy are blessed with three children who love the Lord, Melissa (married to Ryan Crossett), Hannah (studying elementary education at Moody Bible Institute) and Julianne (finishing her last two years of High School at the Mission Boarding School in Venezuela). Ron writes, "It is a humbling honor indeed to be here among the Warao tribal people as God's instruments to bring them the Light of the Gospel. We dream of that day when we will have Warao brothers and sisters who are equally thrilled with the Grace of God that has been showered upon them. Between here and there, are many, many miracles that God must perform!"
